Thanksgiving FSU

Frostburg State University Community Collects 100 Thanksgiving Food Baskets: Frostburg State University students, standing, from left, Mouna Mawolo and Brandi Hawkins, and AmeriCorps volunteer Erin Lewis, seated, hold a small fraction of the 100 baskets of food collected by FSU student organizations, athletic teams, campus departments and individuals that were distributed to area families in need in time for Thanksgiving. In addition to the baskets filled with food, including a turkey, ham or a gift card to cover the purchase of a turkey or ham, $400 in extra gift certificates were donated. On Monday, Alpha Phi Omega, Alpha Sigma Tau and the ECHOSTARS delivered baskets throughout the day. Five vans ferried the deliveries for more than six hours to families and the Western Maryland Food Bank. The annual collection is organized by the FSU Office of Civic Engagement.
