jmp204.jpgFlatpicking virtuosos Robin Kessinger and Robert Shafer will perform at the Allegany Arts Council Performance Center, Friday, October 24, 2008 at 7:30. For those who have not had a chance to check out the new space at 9 North Center Street in Cumberland, this show provides the perfect excuse for a tour. Two of West Virginia's finest musicians, Kessinger and Shafer have created strong followings of traditional music fans on the national level. Between them, they have won multiple Winfield National Guitar Championships. Musicians wishing to glean something from the masters can schedule lessons by calling 301-268-6401.

Veteran Performers to Play in Frostburg

 

Robin and Linda Williams and Their Fine Group will headline this year's FSU Appalachian Festival.  Capping off a full day of music, workshops, and presentations, the Virginia-based duo will take the stage of Frostburg's Historic Palace Theatre, on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 7:30 pm.  Known for their rich harmonies and original songwriting, the pair is joined in concert by Jim Watson, a founding member of the Red Clay Ramblers, on bass, and bluegrass veteran Jimmy Gaudreau on mandolin and mandola.
