The 5th Annual Mountain Maryland Plein Air event is an exciting two week-long arts event that will take place here in Western Maryland from May 28-June 16. “Plein Air” is the French word which means “painting out in the open air”. Both beginner and experienced artists enjoyed the beautiful spring day and each other’s company as they captured images of the EHC’s majestic evergreen trees, many of which were planted over 100 years ago. Participants learned to work with oils, many for the first time, to express their versions of the trees of Evergreen. These workshops, which are sponsored by the Evergreen Heritage Center Foundation and the Allegany Arts Council, offer participants the opportunity to learn more about the scenic, historic EHC site while expressing themselves on canvas. All supplies are provided and participants may take home their paintings ...
