The latest Cotton Jones album, Tall Hours In The Glowstream is a great pop album full of warm melodic soundscapes and rich harmonies. It was released August 24, 2010 - soon after the band’s recent tour ended.

Tall Hours In The Glowstream is the Cumberland natives’ third release – their second release on the Seattle-based record label Suicide Squeeze Records. The album was recorded in Cumberland, MD; Winterville, GA; and Fenwick Island, DE.

According to the band’s website, The Glowstream is a stream with a dead-end that is “centered between North and South Cumberland” and is near that section of Cumberland where one can see the church steeples and I-68.  It’s a thinking spot with shade and a good view of the Queen City.

“Bears in Allegany County!” and “Fall Is in the Air ” are two of the themes that will be explored during Story Times at Allegany County Libraries this fall. The weekly programs for preschool children will be held at each library branch across the county starting the week of September 7 except at the George’s Creek Branch where they will begin the week of September 14.

Story Times for ages 3 to 5 will be held on the following days and times, with activities such as games, finger plays, rhymes, and stories: at the Frostburg Branch on Tuesdays at 11 a.m.; at the George’s Creek Branch on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.; at the LaVale Branch on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.; at the South Cumberland Branch on Thursdays at 10 a.m.; at the Washington Street Branch on Tuesdays (none ...

Frostburg State University's Department of English will host the Cambridge American Stage Tour presentation of Shakespeare's "The Tempest" on Monday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center's Pealer Recital Hall.

"The Tempest" tells the story of Prospero, the deposed Duke of Milan, who summons up a storm to shipwreck his usurpers on his island. The audience is drawn into a world of young love ignited at a glance, bruised egos and damaged pride, a promised liberation soon to be betrayed and the end of a private empire.
