Canal Place will host Movies Under The Stars this Saturday, July 22 at dusk. Featured movie will be Moana, 2016 American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy-adventure film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is Rated PG – Parental Guidance Suggested, some material may not be suitable for children.

The film introduces Auli'i Cravalho as Moana and features the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Jemaine Clement, Nicole Scherzinger, and Alan Tudyk. The film was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year at the 2017 Academy Awards.

CUMBERLAND, MD - Broadway's Tony-nominated Mark Baker of Manhattan and Cumberland will be directing and starring in this weekend's "The Four Cohans" - set for Thursday through Saturday7:30 pm and Sunday2:30 pm at Embassy Theatre.
 
Also starring are Don Stephens as the Music Director, Trish Morgan, Larry McGreevy and Jennifer Webster, and featuring Amy Clise, Ryan Maust, Beth Clise, Kyle Vogtman, Raven Malone and Karl Vogtman.
 
Some of the songs featured in the production will be "All Aboard For Broadway", "In The Shade of the Old Apple Tree", "Mansion of Aching Hearts", "Over There", "Longing for Old Broadway", and a variety of George M. Cohan tunes.

MarissaFrostburg resident Marissa Turner explores themes of renewal in her upcoming art show at the Toasted Goat Winery located at 10 E. Main Street in Frostburg. An opening reception for Turner will be held on Friday, July 7 from 6:00-9:00 PM. All are welcome to attend.

 

Turner returned to painting after a 14-year hiatus. "My last art show was in Rockville, Maryland," explained London-born Turner. "Over the last few years, I began to re-explore my own creativity as my children have grown older. I feel as though I've experienced a renewal."

The Cumberland Comes Alive concert series welcomes The Chinese Bandits to Bands on the Bricks on Fridayevening June 30. The band will be performing at the First Peoples Community Federal Credit Union Stage at Historic City Center located at the corner of Liberty & Baltimore Streets at 6:30 pm. The performance is free of charge, but seating is limited, so don’t forget your folding lawn chair.

 

The Chinese Bandits formed in 1973. The original group included Charles Maddy, guitar and vocals; Greg Green, saxophone; Dick Mongold, bass guitar and vocals; Terry Workman, keyboards; and Paul Gallagher, percussion. Maddy, Mongold and Workman have played together since 1963 as the Envaders.
