According to the Journal of Sexual Medicine, more than 40% of American women identify with a sexual problem sometime throughout their lives. Urology Associates, 12234 Williams Road, Cumberland is one of only 44 sexual awareness providers in the United States and one of 16 centers that offers an integrated and comprehensive approach for the diagnosis and treatment of female sexual problems.

 

Heading the Sexual Health for Women Clinic at Urology Associates is Audra Houser. FSU's Activities for Life Offers Infant/Preschool , Youth Swimming PDF Print E-mail

Activities for Life at Frostburg State University will offer an infant/preschool swimming class for children ages 3 to 36 months and a youth swimming class for children ages 4 to 13 years Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 28 through March 16, in the Cordts Physical Education Center. The infant/preschool class will be held from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and the youth class will be from 6 to 6:50 p.m.

The infant/preschool class requires parents to be in the water with their children. Parents and children will participate in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable in, on and around the water.

Youth swimming instruction is separated into skill levels based on the child's swimming ability when enrolling in the class.

It's that time of here at the Carver Community Center Inc. we are once again planning the Annual Community Health Fair with the Allegany County Health Department.

This year's event will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Country Club Mall in LaVale, from 10 a.m. to  2 p.m.  With the theme of "Celebrating Minorities in Health and Wellness".  Featuring over 40 different displays on health and wellness with screenings for the whole family from ages 1 to 100. Including blood pressures, bmi, childhood vision and hearing, and respiratory functions to name just a few  So come on out and March with is in "Celebrating Minorities in Health and Wellness"  We will also again be showcasing the local musical and dance troupes to be named so stay tuned for more information....

Chocolate-Chip Banana Bread

Warning: this banana bread is so good, especially warm out of the oven, that you will want to eat the entire thing. Therefore, I strongly suggest you invite friends over to share. It may be vegan and therefore "healthier", but ya still gotta exercise a little restraint!

Ingredients:
2 or 3 very ripe bananas
2 Tbs. ground flaxseed
1/3 cup canola oil
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbs molasses
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (more or less depending on your taste)

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350F and lightly grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan
2. In large bowl mash the bananas really well with a fork. Add the sugar, flaxseed, oil, and molasses and stir to incorporate.

olympic speakerJohn Crawley, who works for the U.S. Olympic Committee on issues involving team sports performance, will present two lectures at Frostburg State University on Feb. 21 and Feb. 22. Both programs are free and open to the public.

"From Pheidippides to Phelps: Reflections on Athletic Performance in the Modern Olympic Games" will be presented on Monday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Leake Room of the Cordts Physical Education Center. "Citius, Altius, Fortius: It's Not Every 4 Years ... It's Every Day" will be presented Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 9:30 a.m., also in the Leake Room.
