whiteThe victories Frostburg's football team enjoyed in the 1970s did more than just raise school spirit - they also helped raise team members' awareness of how to be successful long after the last touchdown.

Frostburg football alumnus Col. Donald J. White '75 is a classic example of how a strong foundation in sports led to a big win in life after college. Col. White, who lettered in football and wrestling and looms large in Frostburg's memory as one of its greatest linebackers, translated the insight he gained from college athletics into an awe-inspiring career in aerospace and operational physiology.

FSU's Activities for Life Offers Water Aerobics

Activities for Life at Frostburg State University is starting registration for water aerobics classes and youth swimming lessons.   Water aerobics classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 9 to Dec. 16, from 6 to 6:50 p.m. at the FSU pool in the Cordts Physical Education Center. Participants may register for Tuesday or Thursday class, or both nights for a discounted price.

This class is geared toward those who want to increase cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and body strength. It is the perfect activity for those with painful joints or other movement limitations. Water Aerobics creates good muscle balance, making the muscles limber and strong. The instructor for this class is Sierra Wassell.

Basic chocolate cupcakes get all dressed up for Halloween!

Cupcake Ingredients:
1 cup soymilk
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
¾ cup sugar
1/3 cup canola oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. chocolate extract (if you don’t have chocolate extract just use more vanilla)
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
¾ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
Topping:
1/8 Cup chocolate soymilk
2 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 Tbs. maple syrup
8-10 Newman-O cookies (you can also use other Oreo-type cookies)
Miniature tombstones and doll parts, available at craft stores

Directions:
1) Preheat the oven to 350F and line a cupcake pan with paper or foil liners.

  • Who is eligible? Anyone who is 19 years of age or older is eligible to be seen on a first-come first-served basis. The clinic is for the uninsured, underinsured, or anyone who can’t afford to see a dentist. You do not have to be resident of Allegany County, MD.
