Breastfeeding is the best start for both mothers and babies. For some women, a lack of support may lead them to end their breastfeeding relationship sooner than they'd like. To help encourage nursing and expectant mothers in our area, La Leche League will be hosting the first annual Big Latch On in Allegany County to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.

Integration Studios, one of Frostburg's newest businesses, offers yoga instruction and massage therapy. While they've been open for about a year, the establishment remains hidden in plain sight.  Integration Studios is located at 2 W Main St. in Frostburg- on the corner of Main and Broadway. To get to a class or appointment, use the side entrance (facing Broadway), carefully shut the door and go up the stairs. The warm beige walls and carefully chosen scents provide a welcoming atmosphere.

Sue Heiss and Emily Green co-own the studio and are both licensed massage therapists. Heiss also teaches integrated yoga classes.

Frostburg — Weather permitting, the inaugural Shamrock Shuffle 2.62K run and walk scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. start in Frostburg will continue as planned.

The final decision, however, will be made by about 9:00 a.m. on Thursday by Christine Werner, race director, in consultation with city officials. A primary concern expressed by city officials is that a sufficient workforce might not be available to set up and take down barricades for the course, which starts and finishes at City Place at 14 S. Water St.

STRINGTOWN, Pa. — The Hobo's Heartbreaker 10K run/walk is scheduled to return to Stringtown in southern Bedford County on Saturday, Feb. 16.

The event starts and finishes at Cooks Mill United Methodist Church on Cooks Mill Road in Londonderry Township, approximately three miles north of Ellerslie, Md. The out-and-back 6.2-mile road race was first contested in 2009 and brought back in 2010 but took a two-year hiatus. After the 10K there is a free half-mile run for kids 14 and under.

Activities for Life at Frostburg State University will offer a Stott Pilates class on Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 18 through April 3. Classes will be held from noon until 12:50 p.m. in the Cordts PE Center Dance Studio, room 106. There will be no classes on March 18 and 20.

Advance registration is required. A minimum of five participants is needed to have class.

In Stott Pilates Level I Matwork, participants will learn how active awareness of the muscles of the core can help one to realize the full benefits of any exercise program.
