Governor Martin O'Malley will commemorate the two-year anniversary of the Partnership to End Childhood Hunger, the Administration's effort to make Maryland the first state to end childhood hunger within its borders, Tuesday,  November 9  at the Maryland Judiciary Education and Conference Center, Annapolis.

In November of 2008, Governor Martin O'Malley established the Partnership to End Childhood Hunger in Maryland with Share our Strength and the Governor's Office for Children. FSU's Activities for Life Offers Water Aerobics

Activities for Life at Frostburg State University is starting registration for water aerobics classes and youth swimming lessons.   Water aerobics classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 9 to Dec. 16, from 6 to 6:50 p.m. at the FSU pool in the Cordts Physical Education Center. Participants may register for Tuesday or Thursday class, or both nights for a discounted price.

This class is geared toward those who want to increase cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and body strength. It is the perfect activity for those with painful joints or other movement limitations. Water Aerobics creates good muscle balance, making the muscles limber and strong. The instructor for this class is Sierra Wassell.

Basic chocolate cupcakes get all dressed up for Halloween!

Cupcake Ingredients:
1 cup soymilk
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
¾ cup sugar
1/3 cup canola oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. chocolate extract (if you don’t have chocolate extract just use more vanilla)
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
¾ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
1/8 Cup chocolate soymilk
2 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 Tbs. maple syrup
8-10 Newman-O cookies (you can also use other Oreo-type cookies)

Dental Clinic Scheduled for October 29 and 30 at the Allegany County Fairgrounds from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Who is eligible? Anyone who is 19 years of age or older is eligible to be seen on a first-come first-served basis. The clinic is for the uninsured, underinsured, or anyone who can’t afford to see a dentist. You do not have to be resident of Allegany County, MD.
